Jerry Alsup’s note: Jack Alsup was one of the two children born to Kirby Alsup of Alabama. In 1919, Kirby murdered his wife and then killed himself. Jack was living in the boarding house with his mother and was ten years old when his father killed his mother. He was raised in an orphanage and was a good man when I knew him. I talked to him just before he died of cancer in 1982.
